  • 1737 (24/7): FREE CALL OR TEXT 1737

The 1737 team is one of the Government funded tele-health services (run by Whakarongorau Aotearoa). This team provides brief counselling support relating to:
Depression/sadness
Relationship issues (family, friends, partner)
Anxiety/fear
Grief, loss, and life changing events
Stress at work/home/school/university or tech
Isolation and loneliness
When someone texts or calls 1737, a trained counsellor will work with the person to develop a care plan. This takes on average between 10 - 20 minutes and could include referral to another service, additional counselling or providing information and support. There is also the option to speak with a peer support worker.

IMPORTANT NOTE: 1737 is not a Crisis team or a mental health service for people with severe mental illness or psychological distress.
